AARBAA's compelling presentation to the Arkansas State Legislature resulted in preliminary approval for $5.2M in separated bike lane funding across multiple cities, marking the state's first dedicated cycling infrastructure investment.
$5.2M funding commitment, first statewide cycling infrastructure program
Little Rock City Council approved AARBAA's comprehensive plan for protected bike lanes on Cantrell Road, Main Street, and the entire downtown River Market district.
8.3 miles of downtown protected lanes approved
The popular 36-mile Razorback Greenway received protected infrastructure upgrades including physical barriers, separated crossing zones, and improved signage throughout its route.

The AARBAA Arkansas chapter advocates for separated cycling infrastructure through presentations to the state legislature, city council meetings, and collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Transportation to implement protected bike lanes across the state.
We currently have 198 active members across 2 main chapters in Little Rock and Fayetteville, with particular strength in the Northwest Arkansas metro area.
Arkansas faces challenges with limited existing bike infrastructure outside of urban cores, high-speed rural highways, and the Ozark mountain terrain in the northwest requiring specialized protected lane designs for hills and curves.
