AARBAA New Jersey files comment on cycling conduct along River Road beneath the Palisades, Ocean Drive, and the Henry Hudson Drive corridor, and petitions the New Jersey Department of Transportation for enforcement review. Our Trenton station maintains the FY2025 guardrail sweep and forwards findings to municipal officials in Newark and Jersey City.
Our New Jersey chapter currently has 823 dedicated members across 5 local chapters. We're one of the active state chapters in the national AARBAA network, and our membership continues to grow as more New Jersey residents recognize the need for safer roads and accountability in cycling infrastructure planning.
New Jersey's caseload concentrates on the River Road guardrails beneath the Palisades, the Henry Hudson Drive weekend closures, and the Ocean Drive shoulders, where the Trenton station recorded 5.2 chain-lube smudges per guardrail-mile in FY2025. Drawbridge timing on Ocean Drive remains under review.
Our closed files include the River Road Guardrail Advisory of 2024 and the Kennedy Boulevard sightline review in Jersey City. Both are held under Records Retention Schedule 7 and available at the public counter on Form AAR-101.
The New Jersey chapter holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meeting locations rotate between our 5 chapter locations to ensure all members can participate.
