How can I join AARBAA Utah?

Joining AARBAA Utah is easy! Simply contact our chapter president through the contact information provided on this page, or fill out our membership form. We have 3 chapters across the state with 467 active members. New members are always welcome to join our fight for safer roads.

What does AARBAA do in Utah?

AARBAA Utah files comment on cycling conduct along the Wasatch Front canyon roads, Emigration Canyon east of Salt Lake City, and US-89 through Provo, and petitions the Utah Department of Transportation for enforcement review. Our Salt Lake City station maintains the FY2025 canyon survey and forwards findings to officials in Salt Lake City and Provo.

How many members does the Utah chapter have?

Our Utah chapter currently has 467 dedicated members across 3 local chapters. We're one of the active state chapters in the national AARBAA network, and our membership continues to grow as more Utah residents recognize the need for safer roads and accountability in cycling infrastructure planning.

What are the main road safety challenges in Utah?

Utah's caseload concentrates on the Emigration Canyon switchbacks, the Legacy Parkway Trail crossings in Davis County, and the US-89 shoulder near Provo, where the Salt Lake City station recorded 2.6 chalked summit inscriptions per switchback in FY2025. Snowmelt runoff on the Wasatch Front descents remains under review.

What victories has AARBAA Utah achieved?

Our closed files include the Emigration Canyon Descent Advisory of 2024 and the US-89 shoulder review near Provo. Both are held under Records Retention Schedule 7 and available at the public counter on Form AAR-101.

When and where does the Utah chapter meet?

The Utah chapter holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meeting locations rotate between our 3 chapter locations to ensure all members can participate.
