AARBAA Massachusetts files comment on cycling conduct along Storrow Drive, Route 9, and the I-93 corridor, and petitions the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for enforcement review. Our Boston station maintains the FY2025 Esplanade survey and forwards findings to municipal officials in Boston, Cambridge, and Worcester.
Our Massachusetts chapter currently has 892 dedicated members across 5 local chapters. We're one of the active state chapters in the national AARBAA network, and our membership continues to grow as more Massachusetts residents recognize the need for safer roads and accountability in cycling infrastructure planning.
Massachusetts's caseload concentrates on the Storrow Drive shoulder, the Minuteman Bikeway crossings in Arlington, and the Route 9 corridor in Worcester, where the Boston station recorded 3.7 discarded energy-chew wrappers per Esplanade furlong in FY2025. Winter shoulder conditions along the Charles River Esplanade remain under review.
Our closed files include the Storrow Drive Merge Advisory of 2024 and the Minuteman Bikeway crossing review in Arlington. Both are held under Records Retention Schedule 7 and available at the public counter on Form AAR-101.
The Massachusetts chapter holds regular meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meeting locations rotate between our 5 chapter locations to ensure all members can participate.
