What does AARBAA do in Kentucky?

AARBAA Kentucky enters public comment on cycling conduct along the I-64 and I-75 corridors, Bardstown Road in Louisville, and the bourbon-country lanes off Old Frankfort Pike, and petitions the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for enforcement review. Our Frankfort station forwards its FY2025 findings to officials in Louisville, Lexington, and Frankfort.

How many members does the Kentucky chapter have?

Our Kentucky chapter currently has 389 dedicated members across 3 local chapters. We're one of the active state chapters in the national AARBAA network, and our membership continues to grow as more Kentucky residents recognize the need for safer roads and accountability in cycling infrastructure planning.

What are the main road safety challenges in Kentucky?

Kentucky's caseload concentrates on the Old Frankfort Pike switchbacks, where the Frankfort station recorded 4.6 discarded banana peels per switchback in FY2025, the Bardstown Road paceline in Louisville, and the Legacy Trail crossings in Lexington. Fog-line conduct on the AA Highway (KY-9) remains under review.

What victories has AARBAA Kentucky achieved?

Our closed files include the Old Frankfort Pike Advisory of 2024 and the Man o' War Boulevard sightline review in Lexington. Both are held under Records Retention Schedule 7 and available at the public counter on Form AAR-101.
