AARBAA Vermont files comment on cycling conduct along Route 100, US-7 through Burlington, and VT-108 over Smugglers' Notch, and petitions the Vermont Agency of Transportation for enforcement review. Our Montpelier station maintains the FY2025 covered-bridge survey and forwards findings to officials in Burlington and Montpelier.
Our Vermont chapter currently has 165 dedicated members across 1 local chapter. We're one of the active state chapters in the national AARBAA network, and our membership continues to grow as more Vermont residents recognize the need for safer roads and accountability in cycling infrastructure planning.
Vermont's caseload concentrates on the Route 100 covered-bridge approaches, the Island Line Trail causeway in Burlington, and the Smugglers' Notch switchbacks on VT-108, where the Montpelier station recorded 3.4 discarded energy-chew wrappers per covered-bridge approach in FY2025. Mud-season shoulder conditions on US-7 remain under review.
Our closed files include the Route 100 Covered-Bridge Advisory of 2024 and the US-7 shoulder review south of Burlington. Both are held under Records Retention Schedule 7 and available at the public counter on Form AAR-101.
The Vermont chapter holds regular meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meeting locations rotate between our 1 chapter location to ensure all members can participate.
