Is AARBAA a real organization?

Yes, we're a real organization with a mission to advocate for safer, more sensible road-sharing policies. While we use satire to make our points, our concerns about cyclist safety and traffic efficiency are very real.

Do you really hate cyclists?

Not at all! We have nothing against cycling as an activity or cyclists as people. Our issue is specifically with the practice of riding bicycles on roads designed for motor vehicles when dedicated cycling infrastructure would be safer for everyone. Many of our members are cyclists themselves—they just prefer to ride on paths, not roads.

Isn't it legal for bikes to be on the road?

Yes, in most places it is legal. We're not arguing that cyclists are breaking the law (though some certainly do when they ignore traffic signals). We're arguing that the laws and infrastructure should be updated to reflect modern traffic realities. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's the safest or most efficient solution.

How can I start a local AARBAA chapter?

We're excited about your interest! To start a local chapter, fill out the contact form above with the subject line "New Chapter Inquiry" and someone from our organizing team will reach out with resources and guidelines to help you get started in your community.

What specific policies do you advocate for?

Our policy priorities include:

  • Development of more dedicated bicycle infrastructure separated from vehicle traffic
  • Registration and identification requirements for road cyclists
  • Liability insurance requirements for cyclists using public roads
  • Stricter enforcement of traffic laws for cyclists
  • Transportation planning that prioritizes efficient flow for the majority of road users
